Customized Symbols

Howdy,

I'm a new ArcGIS Online user so please excuse me if this has been asked already. Is there is a way to import customized symbols into my map?  I'm creating a map showing different types of wood-using facilities and would like to get appropriate symbols, if possible.

One other question: is there a way for a user of one of these interactive maps to pick a location (a city, for instance) and then create a range around that city that contains a different type of point?

As for your second question, it may be best to post a new question and give more background on what you asking for there.
