Not sure if I should have posted this thread in 3D or this forum and I???m hoping this is fairly simple and I???m just having a slow day.
I have been requested to calculate the area of a mountain range above 1000m, now I can create the contour and get that into a polygon no problem. But obviously this area is just the flat surface, I have a DEM using the SRTM data but how do I use this to get the proper surface area of the mountain range above 1000m? I understand how I could calculate volume but its surface area that they are interested in for surveying.
As always any help / advice appreciated.
