Has anyone experienced this error when trying to install 10.1 ArcGIS for server? At first I thought it was because I failed to install .NET Framework, but I got the same issue when I tried installing that. If you have seen this, please let me know some ways of fixing this issue.

Thanks,
Julia

Do you get an error?  I found the following from Microsoft.com:

Method 1
Ensure that the Windows Installer service is started.
1.. Open Run, and type in services.msc then press Enter.
2.In services window, locate Windows Installer service in the services list.
3.. Verify that the Status is Started. If the Status column is blank,
right click on Windows Installer and select Start.
4 If you get error trying to force start the Windows Installer service, try to change the Startup Type to Manual, and then restart the computer.

Method 2
Let??s unregister and register the  Windows Installer service and check. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Log on to your computer as an administrator.
2.Click Start, and then click Run.
3.In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
4.At the command prompt, type msiexec.exe /unregister, and then press ENTER.
5.Type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.
6.Restart you computer now.

Method 3
After running Windows Cleanup utility, download and install the latest version of Windows Installer by downloading from the link given below:
Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displa...

Try installing the program and check if it works.
