Does anybody know if the Bathymetry extension will allow the utilization of Hypack data in ArcGIS?  Would like to utilize Arc for post-processing, analysis, querying, mapping of Hypack data... help?

Unfortunately at this time .raw, .edt, .sort files are not supported directly into the ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry extension. However, the suggested workflow would be to use a data processing software like Hypack, or our partner software Fledermaus from QPS to output BAG raster datasets. The BAG can be utilized directly into the ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry extension. The aim of the ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry extension is to manage large volumes of post processed bathymetric surface data. Once your bathymetry has been cleaned and processed the final step would be to create a BAG file and register it with the Bathymetry extension. From here you can utilize ArcGIS to analyze and disseminate your surfaces.

If you would like the Hypack formats you mentioned to be used directly into the Bathymetry extension please feel free to let us know and we will take it into consideration as an enhancement for a future release.  One good way to promote specific formats would either be through logging enhancements with Esri Support Services or by posting the requests on the Esri ArcGIS Ideas portal. For more information on the ideas portal please feel free to visit http://ideas.arcgis.com/ you will find a specific industry category for Oceans and Maritime on the left menu bar.

Thanks,
