All string operations are a little special case.
If you check your workspace, you'll find a CityEngine project called ce.lib. This is a library project for CityEngine, containing specific content which I'm not gonna explain in detail here.
You can make this library project visible in CE as described in the attached screenshot.
Now, inside it's 'rules' folder, you'll find a CGA rule called '_ce_.cga' (with lots of errors)
- string utils
- string list utils
- file utils
- color utils
- helper rules
All those utilities also ship with a little
Just feed the code in a standard Rule:
Lot --> print( listIndex("rule;your;city;","city") ) // = 2
With those utils, you can set up really complex rules, but I don't have any good example ready which I could share. Let me know if this helps anyway.
This stuff : CE Big Boy League .. Welcome ! ;)
