Table Queried Returns One Field

I have map published to ArcGIS Server. It has multiple layers related to the same table but on different fields. In the Services Directory, all of the fields and all of the relates show as expected. However, when I query the layer, only the Display Field shows - no other field is shown.

Is there a way to configure the table so that the other fields become accessible?

make sure "outField" is set to "*" or a list of comma separated field names

Thanks for your replies, but the problem has been solved.

The table was from an Access database and did not have an Object ID (type: esriFieldTypeOID). With that fixed, the queries are working fine.
