Amazon have a Relational Database Service (RDS) product that allows an instance of a relational database to be provisioned with performance characteristics that suit an RDBMS's IO usage.
The Esri documentation discusses the process for installing geodatabases on EC2 instances, but there is no mention of the ability to install ArcSDE into an RDS instance.
Is it possible to install ArcSDE on Amazon RDS?
