Hi. We have SDE and SQLServer.  Our field personnel need up-to-date info on their laptops with no internet access.  Two need only read access.  Two need editing capabilities.  We have an ELA.  What are my options?  Thanks, in advance.

Check out Database Replication.

ince you have an ELA you can replicate to as many laptops as you want.  But, your data will only be as current as your last check in/out date.

Great.  Now I just use ArcMap instead of Mobile?  There doesn't seem to be many customization tools in Mobile, but the synchronizing tool is great.  Which, in your opinion, is easiest.  Lastly, what is the workflow?

Appreciate the advice - somewhat new to Mobile....

I imagine you could use either ArcMap or Mobile.  Afterall, you're just replicating the datasource.  So you could use Mobile, but keep in mind your device has to be robust enough to run ArcSDE.  I'm not a Mobile user so I can't contribute too much as to which is better/worse.  But, ArcMap has a toolbar specific for Replication.

The workflow is really dependent on your use case.  I'd suggest really diving into the help and I bet most all your answers will be addressed in there.  I'd start here and work my way down:
