10.1 Tile generation causing reboot

Every time I do some serious tile generation of a hybrid map - mosaic dataset with some labels - I get a reboot usually during the night.

Could it be lost connection to the raw imagery tiles for the mosaic datasets?  Overviews are on same machine, but raw imagery is on a share on another.

Rebooting seems pretty radical.

Windows 2008 R2 Server. 32GB RAM.  5 processes set aside to do the caching.

When you visit the server the next day there aren't any major error messages in ArcGIS or Windows.   There are possible network error messages...

This scale of caching has never caused a reboot in 10.1 when I was accessing local file geodatabase files for a topo cache.

Of course a "bonus" is then the tile generation status is wrong... saying it's still generating, when it isn't any more.  Cancelling makes no difference.
