Attribute table to excel sheet

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about trying to figure out how I would go about this situation, have not looked into it much but wondering if anyone has experience doing the same thing...

Basically, I have a model that creates about 20 shapefiles, all have an 'Area' field that I have added and calculated (as they are shapefiles and not in a GDB).

I also have an excel spreadsheet that lists all of the shapefiles, and the area values of each.

I would like to be able to have each shapefile write its 'Area' value to the corresponding block in the (single) excel spreadsheet. Each shapefile has a unique name, and all are located in the same folder. Each shapefile has been dissolved, so that there is only one record in each attribute table.

I am using 10.0 with an ArcInfo licence. I am also using MS Excel 2003
