Calculate Min, Max, Avg Distance Between Two (nearly) Parallel Lines

Hello!  I have found similar posts, but none seem to answer this exact question: I have two lines, each depicting a roadway alignment.  One is pretty long, and comprised of approx 20 vertices.  The other is shorter, and is comprised of two vertices.  I would like to know the min, max, and average distance between these two lines. What is the proper approach?

Use one line as the source to create a Euclidean distance raster then use the other line with either zonal statistics or add surface information.
