I have pre-release 10.1 running on a Windows server. I also have the web adapter installed (IIS), ArcGIS Desktop and ArcSDE. When I upgrade to final 10.1, what do I need to uninstall? I am thinking I don???t need to uninstall ArcSDE, but will need to uninstall the desktop, web adapter and ArcGIS server. Does this seem correct. I don???t think I need to return any licenses.

My thought is to stop all the services, uninstall desktop, web adapter, and finally ArcGIS Server using the uninstall utility. Then I will install desktop, and then server. Hopefully our web server will be upgraded by then to put the web adapter on it. This server will reside on our internal network, but will be available to the public through the web adapter.

Does this sound like a good plan? Comments or suggestions?

You probably already did it, but your game plan sounds solid. I don't think you need to uninstall ArcSDE, but yes to everything else.  And no need to return licenses, just upgrade them once you install.
