I am attempting to create a grid system in order to position drill holes on ArcMap. I add my excel data with my UTM & local grid and use the UTM as my X/Y coordinates; after I export the data to another layer, the step by step guide I found says to open the excel sheet again and do over the X/Y coordinates only to use the local grid as the X/Y. Using the X/Y, I create a new projected coordinate system 'Local' and use False Easting & Northing based off the grid system we are using (followed by a -3 Azimuth, and the Lat / Long of the Point we are using as our control point) and select NAD83 North America.

Once I click Finish and it comes up with "Table does not have ID Field" - after clicking ok, a box comes up and says

One or more layers failed to draw:
'Control Point$' Events:
'Control Point$' Events: General function failure ['Control Points$']

Any help would be appreciated.

Use Excel to table rather than working with the excel file directly

http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/conversion/excel-to-table.htm

or you can look through the Support site on that error message

Error: One or more layers failed to draw: General Function Failure
