Does anybody know if the ArcGIS API for WPF will still be available in version 10.1 ?  Or will it be replaced by the ArcGIS Runtime SDK, which is not free ?
Would this mean that the applications we have build so far would not be free anymore when upgrading to 10.1 ?

Hi,

With ArcGIS 10.1 we are releasing an enhanced version of the ArcGIS API for WPF which will be called the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF. As a developer, this SDK will be available as part of your EDN subscription. When it comes to deployment, online/services-based applications will continue to be free to deploy but will require you to obtain a Basic license string which you embed in your application. Additional functionality such as local data support constitutes a Standard license and does have an associated deployment cost. For the list of functionality levels please see http://resourcesbeta.arcgis.com/en/help/runtime-wpf/concepts/index.html#/Functionality_set_requireme....

Cheers

Mike
