I have no idea why I can't find an answer to to this question through Google or Esri Help, but...

How do I add a table to my map document?

Not currently available in 10.0 arcpy.mapping, coming in future release I believe

It depends on what you want to do. You can add field summary values in text boxes with an outline.

At 10.1 we've added AddTableView and RemoveTableView to the arcpy.mapping API.

I can't beleive that this simple function hasn't been added to arcpy yet. Alright. I guess I'll have to find some sort of work around until 10.1 comes out. Thank you!
