I have road shape file and 600 sample plots. So I want to find out the nearest road from this 600 sample plot those are located in different places.
I want to know that which tools should I use to measure the nearest distance to road from a polygon/point in Arc Info 10. The road shape file in poly-line format. The sample plots are in polygon/point format.
Hi, I would calculate a Euclidean distance to road surface (there is a tool for this), and then sample this to the point data (so that you get an additional field in the attribute table giving the distance at that point to the nearest road). Kate.
