What is the internal CE world units in?

Is it UTM? I have been trying to convert the xz coordinates of shapes/graphs and cross reference this with ersi, osm and googlemaps data but I seem to be seeing a slight error. I'm not sure if this is error in the data or in my calculations. Any insight into this would be great.

the internal UNIT is meters and by default, the CityEngine uses no 'Scene Coordinate System', thus works in a cartesian coordinate system (xyz). If you choose a 'SCS' for your scene, things should line up.
