Could we have some guidance notes on upgrading the License server to support the 2011 version please?

Installed the new software only to find the server stopped authorising when starting the software. Have received some codes from the ESRI reseller, but no-one seems to know how the new codes and old FlexNET server work together. Can't get much help from the local reseller - they are used to a different ESRI license system it seems.

Help!

hi Tim,

With the release of the CityEngine 2011, Esri has created new License Server software (based on their existing FlexNet technology) for the CityEngine, but for floating licenses (concurrent use), the old License Server you have should work fine too.

Though, you will need to get a new floating license file from Esri which activates the new features.

By 'code', do you mean that you got Activation Codes ? Because Activation Codes create nodelocked licenses, thus are of no use for you.

Please let me know.

Correction - we seem still to be lacking the install files, and local ESRI support are struggling to support this. Is local support the only means of obtaining the files? Could this be arranged as a user-available item on a login webpage?

Looking forward to 2011.... eventually!

...or so we thought.

Having lots of trouble obtaining a 2012 licence update from ESRI via the local reseller. Not very impressed with ESRI (as opposed to Procedural!) at this point, someone needs to get this together. I understand the process of merging organisations is complex... but this is starting to feel like big business not caring about it's customers.

Can anyone reading this at ESRI change some things here please?
