Creating building shadows produces an memory overflow

Hi there,

I've got some buildings in my SDE (about 190.000). For those buildings I'd like to create shadows. For this reason I take every point within a polygon and shifts it.

My script works for simple test (data). But when i run the script on the desired buildings the memory Python needs rises up to 1.4 GB or something an Python quits.

I activated garbage collection and actively collects garbage every x polygons. The cursor variables are deleted and reinitialized every z polygons.

Is there anything else I can do to reduce Python's memory load?
Or is there a more clever way to shift my buildings via Python to get my shadows?
