hydrologic modeling tool - 'reverse' rain drop?

Discussion created by macrostaff on Jul 19, 2011

I've been using the following spatial analyst tool for calculating watersheds etc for the last few years. My question is regarding the 'rain drop' button. I can use that to click on a point on a DEM (say on a ridge) and it gives a graphic trace of where water will travel flowing downstream. I'm just wondering if there is a similar tool which would allow me to do the reverse i.e. to click on, say, a lowland river and it will provide a trace heading upstream to the river's source? I've set up the DEM for flow direction, flow length etc already...

Thanks in advance,
