Is there an easy way to take aerial imagery (Sid files) and extract the imperious areas (roads, tops of buildings, concrete, etc.) to a raster to use in analysis. I have aerials of several counties for the last ten years and would like to compare the urban sprawl or increase in imperious area by using the aerial data. Is this possible? Can I do it on my own computer? How can you do this?

Thanks for your help!
