I wanted to create an index to habitat area, and was wondering if anyone knows how to do what I had in mind?? The format of the data is a raster layer based on imagery where grassy areas have a value of 0, and woody areas have a value of 1, and a layer of survey points located within the landscape. Does anyone know if there is a way to generate a circular line which would start at the survey points, and then continually estimate the percent woody cover on the line, increasing its radius until the line was > 60% (or any other predetermined value) woody area. The final value would be the size of the circle when the line became > 60% woody. I was wondering if anyone knows of a script, or if any ideas on how to do this analysis???
