Python AGS Connection (Framework WPS)

Discussion created by eduschric001 on May 2, 2011
Hello everybody,

I am doing a research on the WPS framework that's offered by 52North.
For that I need a connection form the Framwork to AGS, which is working with the standard processes (buffer,split,clip...) but not with my own Python script. I am using a Python script which is working on a testserver offered by 52north but not on my server. For that I am looking for some hints in this forum which environment variables i had to set to make Python and ArcGIS working together.
Actual my problem is that the wps starts working, but after a while it stops and throws an error that arcgisscripting.pyd produces. This error message is:
Description:
  Stopped working

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
  Application Name: python.exe
  Application Version: 0.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp: 4ba3e443
  Fault Module Name: arcgisscripting.pyd
  Fault Module Version: 10.0.0.2414
  Fault Module Timestamp: 4bf44dd5
  Exception Code: c0000005
  Exception Offset: 0008d991
  OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.272.7
  Locale ID: 1033

My System is:
Server 2008r2;Arcgis 10(Desktop, Server)

What I am looking for:
Which environmentvariables I had to set for Python/AGS?
What is arcgisscripting.pyd? Where or How could I set references in the environmentvaribles?
Is there anything else to know about ArcGis and Python?(-> Connection Arcgis-Python)

Anyway, any tips greatly appreciated,

Best Regards,

Schoerghofer Richard
