I'm working on preprocessing two polygon layers by simplifying their attributes to include only the elevations. The two polygons don't follow the same extents, for example, they don't line up exactly. I'd like to compare the two to find out if the elevation increased or decreased, and kick out an output polygon for display. What approach should I take or tool should I use to conduct this analysis?
I also have the option of converting the two polygons to raster, and running the analysis as raster based data. Any thoughts on this are also welcomed.
