Snapping Distance

Greetings,

I'm using the Edit toolbox's "Snap" to move points over to a line. I would also like to keep track of how far each point was moved to the snap feature, much like Hawth's Geospatial Modeling Environment does. Any ideas?

Before snapping, you could run the Near tool on the points to get the distance to the nearest line.
