ArcGIS Pro 2.5: The “can’t create output” error is repeatedly appearing with no logical reason when working with model builder,

I observed that the “can’t create output” error is repeatedly appearing with no logical reason when working with model builder.

Is this a filed bug?

does it exist already?

Did you try a new name?

Save, close and restart?

- It is happening very frequently (in my machine) with no reason and reported to me by other users as well!

- Closing\starting the Pro or even the machine doesn’t resolve the issue.

- No need to rename the output as this is managed automatically by the model builder

I never faced such issue in ArcMap

It might be localized, since I have never seen this behaviour

Such issues are very frequent and common in Pro and very rare in ArcMap.

You might want to try saving your rasters to the recommended *.tif format in a folder rather than rasters in a gdb

I have ever been saving my rasters in gdb in ArcMap and very rarely I encountered in such issues. Not sure if this is related to Pro

From My experiences Model builder depending on how it feels chooses to ignore the over write Exiting environment setting within ArcPro. I have had the same issues with the Manage Tile Cache tool where ArcPro locks itself from updating the tile cache to geoprocessing tool is designed to update.

Thank you Tim for sharing your experience

I would appreciate if we can hear from esri on this if it's already filed for consideration.

You will need to file a case with Tech Support if you think it is an issue

There is nothing on the site, but you can check there yourself
