Rerouting a pre-planned route in Navigator

We've created meter reading routes for Navigator where each stop is a waypoint to avoid constant "you've reached your destination," since some routes have 800+ meters. We use pre-planned routes, but we came across a problem the other day. Due to high water, we couldn't cross a bridge to reach a set of meters. Since this was a pre-planned route though, it kept trying to keep us on the route even though it was inaccessible, and thus we couldn't continue onto the rest of the route. Though sometimes we can prepare for that if we know a bridge will be closed, what about last minute changes? For example, if there is a car wreck or an unexpected road closure? Is there a way to work around that on the go, even in a spot without cell coverage?

We have this problem all the time. We use navigator heavily to perform tree inspections efficiently within our city. On average, a route consists of about 75 stops. Many, many times, our field technicians will have to deviate from their route to take care of another unexpected task, and then they will have to drive all the way back across town to get back to where Navigator thinks they should be. There needs to be a way for navigator to reorder and optimize routes on the fly.

I created an idea here if you're interested in upvoting: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-navigator-ideas/re-optimize-routes-on-the-fly/idi-p/1002491/jum...
