Dear All,

I am very new for ArcGIS, can any one help me to finished this issue.

I have lots of point in different two layers and different location. i need to find nearest point and distance.

Is there any option to get this?

I already tried "Generate Near Table" (ArcToolbox--> Analysis Tools--> Proximity --> Generate Near Table.) , But it's not giving right value.

Please guide me.

Thank You.

You will have to elaborate.

Why do you think the answer is wrong?

Are you getting strangely small numbers (perhaps your coordinates and distances are in decimal degrees)

Perhaps a screen grab showing where you find the nearest not being correct and the table value

Dear Mr.Dan,

Some time i got wrong data.

here i attached one photo please check it.

In this case nearest point for B should be A but i got C.

i don't know how it's working. by angular or only distance?

That is simply the distance from one point to all others.  227504.367 to itself is 0 which is correct, but the next closest point is 227656.536 with a distance of 157.800951 which looks correct.  I think you might have better luck if you switched the order of inputs in the near analysis so that 'From X and Y' is 227504.367, 3870110.845

Dear Mr.Dan,

Thank you for your reply.

I tried again with different order, but it's coming same like before, it's calculating the distance from first point.

Please check the attached image.

do you want the ALL option instead of just the Closest?

YES, i need only nearest point and distance.

I have existing and new survey data. i need to compare both and should remove duplicates(if 2 points near each other less than 2 m, it's duplicate).

i have more than 50,000 points. please guide me.

Couldn't you buffer the new survey data with 2m, erase the existing points and then merge?
