I wanted to share a solution I developed to incorporate the alt attribute to the featured images associated with the Map Tour Classic StoryMap. My solution adds the alt attribute to the images in the carousel, the block where the text is on top of the image, and for the image modal pop-out.
My assumption is that there is probably a better way to approach this problem then I did. Therefore, I created a GitHub Gist to share my solution. I am hoping other web accessibility-minded developers can contribute to improving this solution.
