We downloaded data from a Garmin GPS unit into DNR GPS. Usually when we download, we first download a text file of our trackline which provides time stamps along our sampling path and then we download the track into a shapefile to be displayed in ArcGIS. There is one day in our sampling season where it looks like the shapefile was downloaded correctly; however, the text file only contains the first data point. From our data sheets, we know the start time/trip and the end time/trip. We are wondering, is there a way to recreate the text file from the shapefile? We have tried to convert our trackline into a point shapefile, but the time stamp information is not provided for each point. Is there a way to recreate the time stamp for each point along a line?
