I need a flat earth! Seriously.

Forgive any lack of the correct terminology. When I open a map and zoom to the world scale in ARCGISonline, I get a flat earth. If I open Pro and zoom to the world scale, I get the three quarter earth shape. I thought this could be resolved by reprojecting the three quarter earth into Mercator, but the geoprocessing tool will not let me reproject the basemap. The firefly basemap opens as a 'flat earth' in Pro. Thank you.

What do your Map and Scene > Spatial Reference settings look like?

ArcGIS Online uses WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere for Web Maps.  By default, when you add a new Map View in AGP, it is also in WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere.  The first raster or vector feature class you add to the new Map View then sets the coordinate system for the Map View.  If you want the Map View to remain at WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere, then go the Map Properties->Coordinate System->Layers and select the Basemap your using for your Map View.  Then all data in the Map View will project on the fly to Web Mercator.
