Hi all,
I have a question concerning what is called FQDN when installing ArcGIS Enterprise.
ESRI recommand to use FQDN as server name. OK but which one ?
My server is in a Microsoft AD domain so its FQDN is:
WIN001.MSDOMAIN.GL
But we will never use Portal using this URL. The "application" URL is registered in our DNS as :
GEOPORTAL.LYON.FR and the HTTPS certificate is for GEOPORTAL.LYON.FR
So during installation what server name must I use ? I'm not supposed to have a WIN001.MSDOMAIN.GL HTTPS certificate.
Thank for your help
Nicolas
It's common to have an internal DNS and FQDN, (portal.domain.local), but also have a different external facing, (or even internal alias) FQDN. You'll need to set a Web Context URL to tell Portal and Server to use the correct hostname within it's user/client facing URL.
