Site organization

We provide geospatial and related data to customers, reported and organized on a customer and site basis. Our filing logic is as follows:

1.  A customer will have many sites

2.  A site will have hundreds of geospatial layers

3.  Various layer types are possible including DSM, high resolution rgb, thermal, and multi-spectral orthomosaics. Also, gas emissions data will also be plotted over the layers.

We would like to view layers by the site, organized by quarterly time periods.  The reason for this is that we want to view the evolution of a site over time, as it pertains to all the image layers, each quarter.

These views will be controlled and only viewed internally, though we intend to create a report that can be printed as a hard copy and shared with customers.

We use ArcGIS Pro for processing and compiling imagery, but use ArcGIS Online for internal company viewing of the imagery.

Based on this, we would like to organize all the layers by customer, layer type, date, etc. We would more importantly like to create a site “compendium” that allows us to pull up a site and see all related data and imagery for a site. Likewise, we would like to do the same organized by customer where we can choose a customer and view all the organized “compendiums” (layers would be filed within the compendiums).

We are finding the organizational tools within ArcGIS to help manage files (layers, data, etc) very weak in this regard. We have only found groups, categories and tags as organizing tools and have not found them to be effective in meeting our purposes.

Are we missing something or are there alternatives methods we should consider?

Thank you.
