How do I manage data in ArcPro?  It's always MyProject>MyProject>MyProject.gdb and what happened to my ArcCatalog?  Help.  I'm trying to migrate data and can't view my aprx in Desktop Catalog!!!

You might benefit from https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/get-started/manage-data.htm

Ultimately, you still add folder connections in ArcGIS Pro like you would in ArcMap.  There is some difference in how Pro "remembers" these (or not) based on how you use Favorites.  https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/data-management/data-management/arcgis-pro-tips-this-might... is a user-friendly explanation of working with Favorites and cites the documentation.

Hope this helps!

why is there a tool box and gdb for every map I make and why is there not a "full" version of catalog.  I don't like the road (the one that has been "mapped" out for easy of use for ribbon based users) that I'm on...

You can toggle off that toolbox and gdb creation by clicking on Project to go to the 'backstage'.  A large number of project defaults can be set up there.

ArcGIS Pro is not ArcMap, there are a large number of threads lamenting the difference and a large number of ideas on the ArcGIS Ideas site requesting changes and/or additions.  You can examine those to see if any meet your particular situation.  It is best to explore without the expectation that both pieces of software are the same... both will be around for a while, so use what is most comfortable and dabble in the other when you don't have a pressing need.
