Displacing buildings

I am using the building conflict tool within model builder to displace my buildings.
my linear feature are rail network, road line, and water lines.
In the most part the buildings are displacing as I would expect. but there is a few unusual examples.
my scale is set at 1:12000. I have put in 0.1 for both building gap and minimum allowable size as I didn't want any buildings to disappear.
Red building is before displacement. yellow is after.
can anyone explain why these buildings are becoming so misshapen?
