Good morning, we have a Map Journal Storymap https://cityofvancouver.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=03a2db60fd6b4b0cacf9e987fb9... that's been working okay for a couple of years.

We're going in and making some updates to it but are experiencing strange behavior. Sections 14 and 15 (https://cityofvancouver.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=03a2db60fd6b4b0cacf9e987fb9...  &  https://cityofvancouver.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapJournal/index.html?appid=03a2db60fd6b4b0cacf9e987fb9...5) come up with www.cityofvancouver.us refused to connect.

The Main Stage for these sections are configured with web page links (section 14 links to this site: https://www.cityofvancouver.us/tbdb/page/vancouver-transportation-benefit-district) and (section 15 links to this site: https://www.cityofvancouver.us/publicworks/page/improving-our-street-system-needs-strategies)

Screenshot of web link configuration for section 15 of storymap. Section 14 is configured similarly.

The hyperlinks work outside of the storymap, but when used within the storymap, fail to connect.

Any thoughts?

The embedded content in those sections works OK for me currently.

Thank you Rupert Essinger Our Webmaster checked with our hosting service and learned that the hosting service made a change that prevented our site from being embedded. They have resolved the issue since and it's all working good now. Thank you for checking.

Good to know you tracked down the cause. I suspected that was one of the possible reasons for what was going on: web pages can be configured so they can't be embedded, and this is usually the underlying issue when Story Map authors aren't able to embed web content in stories. It's not a limitation of Story Maps: web content that is configured to prevent embedding can't be embedded in anything on the web. In your case it sounds like those pages were temporarily changed to be in that mode but have since been fixed to allow themselves to be embedded again.
