Adding content to an online instance from a cloud?

My org. has an online instance licence, and a collection of data stored on google drive. Any time I try to add content to the org's Esri account via the import from cloud option, it is denied and the message reads "file type not supported." The files I'm attempting to add are either shapefiles or geodatabases. I've tried uploading the same files from my computer, too, same problem. Some of the data are from state databases, some were collected by individuals and are the only copies of the data. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks, S
