Managing bookmarks with a decently sized scene is a horrible pain, because CE thinks it has to render the whole view into a thumbnail with minute detail, then it trips over itself and stalls for a quarter minute while eating 5GB extra RAM. Even worse, it does it EVERY TIME you do anything, like moving a bookmark up or down.
There doesn't seem to be any way to turn this feature off in the UI nor can Python delete the bookmarks, can I at least edit some jar file to make the thumbnail generation fail? Forcing java to run out of memory does seem to have a positive effect (no more thumbnail), but unfortunately makes the rest of the application pretty unstable.
Edit: this problem does not occur in 2017.1.
