With this raster, running the Int GP tool on it works fine:
But in Model Builder, it fails after an iterator. But if I do any other math function after the iterator such as Abs, it works. Just Int won't work.
It is old-school... goes back to ArcView 2.x days... someone will jump in with numbers (ie less than 10 chars long, can't begin with a number etc etc)
tiff is the preferred format.. that is somewhere in the docs... but it is Friday
....and it's failing because the output name starts with a number. Using I%Name% works only if I remove another character from the raster name. However the Times GP tool works fine after the iterator, and outputs the raster name starting with a number. Renaming the rasters is not an option, the raster name is a date stamp that is needed exactly as is in another process.
esri grids can't begin with a number... no option
I couldn't find that here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/analysis/spatial-analyst/performing-analysis/output-raster-formats-and-names.htm. So maybe if I convert these all to tif?
This may be of help:
It is generally recommended that you have the first letter of a raster name be a character instead of a number or symbol.
The name of an Esri Grid format raster has more specific restrictions:

Thanks for all the help guys. What I ended up doing was removing the underscore and putting a letter in front of the name, then going back and removing the letter and re-adding the underscore (with py).
