Can you use a polygon layer for the shortlist story map in lieu of a point layer? I have both, but just want the user to see the polygons in the map?
Hi Kate, in a Shortlist, the places have to be point based. You could add polygons to the web map used in a Shortlist (by editing the web map outside of the Shortlist Builder) as a supporting layer, and you could then define points to represent each polygon. Users can click on the polygons to get the standard popup, or click on the point to get the Shortlist information panel. The points would be shown in the tabs.
Another approach to presenting a set of polygon based places would be to use Story Map Journal or Story Map Series, and have each section in the story show a particular set of polygons. Readers could click on those polygons to get the standard popup for more info.
Hope that helps.
