Can't prevent the Survey123/Collector field user from modifying data outside of these apps

There are circumstances where we only want the user to change Survey results via the Survey123 or Collector application.  For example, a score that is calculated in the Survey can simply be changed using ArcGIS Pro or the Map Viewer in AGOL.

Esri’s current permission model allows anyone with a standard User role edit a Hosted Feature Service’s attributes in the Map Viewer IF they are a member of a Group that the HFS is shared with AND the HFS has edit capabilities. They can also add and delete attachments. You can’t remove edit permissions or they won’t be able to submit Surveys or add features using Collector. Does Esri have any plans to provide more control over this? Hiding fields could help, but a savvy user can make them visible again.

Hi Shana,

Thanks for the suggestion and description of how it would work within your collection/editing process.  I've forwarded it over to the ArcGIS Online team for consideration as an enhancement to the usage limitations.
