Hello,

I have three aerial years that will need to be made coordinate system "user friendly" for successful integration with Bing Maps and the like in AGO.

I have opened a blank ArcMap, right clicked on Layers in the TOC, selected Properties, selected WGS1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere) WKID 3857 and hit OK.

I then brought in an aerial that is NAD_1983_StatePlane...got the Geographic Coordinate Systems Warning...clicked the Transformations button where the convert from (GCS_North_American_1983) and the Into: GCS_WGS_1984 being correct...with me selecting from the "Using (choices are sorted by suitability for the layer's extent)" drop down NAD_1983_To_WGS_1984_5...OK...and Close.

Will doing this action negate me having to officially project this raster to WGS1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere before publishing since the Layers Properties in ArcMap has been set to this coordinate system?  I am trying not to project this raster and take up additional space on our server if that makes sense.

Thank you.
