Does anyone know if I I can license ArcGIS Server via # of cores only, and not mess with all the named user nonsense related to portal and the rest of ArcGIS Enterprise?
ArcGIS Enterprise is a product that includes several components:
- ArcGIS Web Adaptor
- Portal for ArcGIS
- ArcGIS Server
- ArcGIS Data Store
You can purchase ArcGIS Enterprise and just install/deploy ArcGIS Server only if you like. And yes, it is licensed based on number of cores. However, you would not be leveraging all the functionality that ArcGIS Enterprise offers.
Hope this helps,
