Start and endpoint vertices create an unwanted beeline

Question asked by catmorgan11 on Jun 5, 2018

I have a property that consists of two parcels, but they are separated by a road and therefore do not touch. I used the features to line tool to get a boundary of the parcels, then merged them so they are the "same line" even though they still do not touch. When I export this line to GPX, it creates a beeline from the startpoint and endpoint of the line and creates a huge line through both parcels to connect these start and endpoints (in the attached picture, the red dots are where the start/end vertices are, and the red line is what shoes up on the map). Is there a way to either delete the start and endpoints all together, or is there a way that I can move the start and end locations so the beeline would just show up in the gap between the parcels? Or is there a better way to go about this?
