Just wondering if there are any DB applications that I can use to connect/open a FGDB?? Using MS Access used to an option when we had the PGDB, so I'm just wondering if there is a similar option for the FGDB.
The only way I believe outside of ArcGIS/ArcObjects is to use the File Geodatabase API:
Esri File Geodatabase API Is Now Available
There's also a reverse-engineered (and read-only) "Open File Geodatabase" library, but neither it nor the FileGDB API are implemented as an ODBC source. Such an implementation is possible, but does not represent a trivial level of effort (which is probably why it hasn't yet been done).
Thanks. Yes, I'm just looking for a simple solution so that the more advanced end-users can still query outside of ArcPro in a similar fashion to before, but I guess that just won't be an option anymore.
At the Dev Summit, I heard that more advanced DB functionality may be built into Pro to allow for better interaction with a DB. Is that something that is actually in the works for an upcoming release??
