WAB Dev Edition 2.7: why does the App State checkbox not save uploaded vector data and GP widget output in next browser session?

Everyone,

I am aware that the "App State" checkbox serves the purpose of saving layer visibility and map extent for the next browser session. However, when I upload any vector data via the "Add Data" widget, or when I get an output from a GP widget, these layers seem to NOT persist when closing and reopening the browser and clicking on the App State tab (see image below). Is this intended behavior or a bug?
