I would like to add a custom location type.  ROUTE with FROM_MEASURE and TO_MEASURE (line data) or just ROUTE and FROM_MEASURE (points).  I would have a ROUTE layer that would be the "geocoder" that would contain ROUTE and TOTAL_DISTANCE for the route.  The spreadsheets would contain lines and points that have the route and measure info.  Is this supported?

Hi Jonathan,

ArcGIS Maps for Office locates features based on address, latitude/longitude, and administrative boundaries.

Location types—ArcGIS Maps for Office | ArcGIS

For linear referencing capabilities, you will need to use ArcGIS Desktop.

Hope this helps,

Thanks. I was hoping a "Custom Location Type" might be used in some way.

Hi Jonathan,

Linear referencing functionality is not possible within ArcGIS Maps for Office - sorry.

Hope this helps,

Got it, thanks.  Are there any plans tp support LRS?  This would greatly help transportation agencies and other linear asset organizations (e.g. WW).

Hi Jonathan,

None that I'm aware of. Please submit an enhancement request on the ArcGIS Ideas site.

Hope this helps
