Looking for clarification regarding using ArcGIS Monitor in an environment where ArcGIS Server is configured web-tier authentication. Is this at all possible? For example, if the authentication was set to web-tier but a Web Adaptor was configured with Anonymous access enabled (Windows authentication ); would this be a supported alternative....?

I do see that documentation here (Add an ArcGIS counter—ArcGIS Monitor Administrator | ArcGIS Enterprise) states that "Only ArcGIS Server authentication is supported" when adding an 'ArcGIS Counter'; and in another FAQ page (FAQ - ArcGIS Monitor Features) that "ArcGIS Monitor will only monitor ArcGIS Server through the GIS Tokens and entering the token url simply bypasses the Web Tier/Windows Domain authentication and always forces a GIS Server authentication with Tokens".

Thanks for the confirmation!

Hi Jackie,

The documentation you found references version 10.6.0, but in ArcGIS Monitor 10.6.1, we added the capability to use credentials of the Windows administrative users in the ArcGIS Server built-in store or Active Directory to authenticate for ArcGIS, Portal, and Http counters. Secured ArcGIS Server services requiring a token can also use Windows authentication if the Windows user that is running the ArcGIS Monitor Service has authorization to access the target site or service.
