Is there a two factor authentication in Portal ?

In AGOL this can be activated and users can log using Google Authenticator as an additional code, but it seems no equivalent feature is available in Portal.

If it's not possibile, is it something that qill be available in the next future ?

Thanks

Gianni

Hi Gianni,

This is a question that I've been asked more than once recently. ArcGIS Enterprise does not at this point support MFA in the same way that AGO does. With that said, this may be achieved by using a SAML provider (like OKTA or similar) that itself supports MFA.

Configure Okta—Portal for ArcGIS (10.6) | ArcGIS Enterprise

Thanks Randall,

SAML is good but it's a quite different approach. Since you're saying it's a commn question, are you considering to add MFA in ArcGIS Enterprise ?

Yes, this request is under consideration.

Hi Randall,

We are looking into 2FA or MFA for our forested network as well to use in ArcGIS Portal.  Has there been any further progress on implementing this in AG Portal over the last year?

Thanks,

Becky

This idea is now possible with the release of ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9! For some more information on enabling multifactor authentication, please see this documentation: Multifactor Authentication (Configure Security Settings)
