Can I display two coordinate systems simultaneously in Data View? We use local site grid coordinates in the field (1000N, 1000E), which we then later georefrence to GPS data in UTM. Is there a way to display both in Arcmap at the same time? So that i can select a point and see our site grid coordinates and the real world UTM coordinates.

No.. but you can try setting the data view to one, and query for the other

Create two data frame one for local grid and other for UTM. and add data .

You can see them at same time in layout view.

you can also show grids in layout view for each data frame.

No but you set the Data Frame properties to show the units of one as you move your mouse around and in the Identify Window, click the really small drop down to the right of the units in the middle of the UI and change that to show different location units.

Depending on which version you're using, you could create a fishnet for one or the other grid (or both). You might have to do some attribute or labeling work as it would get projected to whatever the data frame's coordinate system is.

When you say... select a point... do you mean the points already exist?  If not... ignore the rest...

if so, calculate values for projected and unprojected coordinates in the table, open the table so you can see it and the map and set your table to show only selected records... voila!
